King Trumpet Mushrooms
This is a great vegetarian dish with tons of flavor that can be used to complement your Asian “not-takeout” dinner that you pick up on the way home.
Ingredients:
3 king trumpet mushrooms
Handful of white sesame seeds
4 Tbs maple syrup
4 Tbs dark soy sauce (Sushi Chef)
Splash of lemon juice
Directions:
Trim ends of mushrooms and use vegetable peeler to remove the outside firmer layer, then cut into 1/3” slices
Combine soy sauce and maple syrup to make marinade
Place mushrooms and marinade in a Zip Lock bag and refrigerate 30 min – overnight
Toast sesame seeds on stovetop and reserve
Remove mushrooms from marinade and sautee in butter for 4 min on each side on medium heat
Add a splash of lemon juice, then remove from heat
Serve with toasted sesame seeds on top
