Poached Eggs with Easy Hollandaise Sauce
Hollandaise sauce is one of those things that you think only a real chef can achieve. But this is an easy version that if you can use a hand immersion blender, you too can do. And it tastes so good!
Poached Egg Ingredients:
1 egg
Butter
Splash of vinegar
Pinch of salt
Hollandaise Sauce Ingredients:
1 egg yolk
½ tsp lemon juice
½ tsp water
Pinch of salt
½ stick butter
Poached Egg Directions:
Use a paper towel to butter the slotted spoon poacher
Crack an egg into a paper bowl
Place enough water in a pot to cover the line on the poacher
Add a splash of vinegar and a pinch of salt to the water and boil on high
Then reduce to a simmer (#5)
Slip the egg into the poacher for 4 min
Remove the poacher and place the egg into water with ice cubes to stop the cooking
Hollandaise Sauce Directions:
Blend everything but the butter in a hand blender cup
Melt ½ stick butter on the stove
Slowly blend melted butter into the blender cup over 30 sec
Pour over the poached egg and eat like a real chef!
